Your photos live in this browser on this device only. They are never sent anywhere. Auto-resized so each one takes very little space.
Voice
Hear the words, exercises, and steady reminders out loud — in a real human voice. Everything here is recorded and played back entirely on this device. Microphone audio is never uploaded. Nothing leaves your hands.
Which voice plays
Founder's Voice
The voice the app comes with — from one battle buddy to another.
My Voice
Your own recordings, made below. Your voice, guiding you.
No Voice
Text only. No audio anywhere in the app.
Record In Your Own Voice
Read each line and record it once. Do a few at a time — your progress saves as you go, and you can re-record anything that doesn't sound right. To hear your own recordings in the app, set the voice above to My Voice.
Your History
Patterns matter. Looking back is how you see the trend, not just the day.
Export Your Data
Take your entries with you. Useful for sharing with a therapist or just keeping a record.
Crisis Resources
If you or another vet is in crisis right now, use these. You don't have to be in active suicidal crisis to call. Just being not okay is enough.

About This Tool
Battle Buddy Companion is a self-help and reflection tool built by a Veteran, for Veterans. It was created to support the mission of curbing the 22-a-day. It is not therapy and it is not a treatment plan. It is a daily companion — a place to do the work between the appointments.
Everything you write here is stored only in your own browser, on your own device. It is not sent anywhere. It is not uploaded. Clearing your browser data will erase your entries — use the Export button if you want to keep a copy.
Your data is encrypted. Every check-in, journal entry, crisis plan, and uploaded photo is locked behind your 4-digit code using AES-256 encryption (the same standard used by banks and the U.S. government). Without your code, the stored data is unreadable — even to someone with full access to your computer. The trade-off: if you forget your code, the data cannot be recovered. There is no master key and no backdoor. That is the point.
